Do you have life jackets and safety equipment on board?
Yes, we have 120 life jackets for guests and 10 extra life jackets for staff working on board.
The Liquid Lounge is surveyed and licensed annually and all safety requirements and regulations
are maintained with discipline.
What is the minimum and maximum capacity for the Liquid Lounge?
The minimum capacity is 40 guests. The maximum capacity is 120 guests. If you would like to use
the dance floor on board, the maximum would 100 guests seated for a dinner cruise.
What does “minimum rate” imply?
The Liquid Lounge needs to operate with a minimum rate of 40 guests to make our operation viable.
If you would like to book the boat out exclusively for your group this minimum rate will apply to
you only if you are less than 40 guests. If you are more than 40 guests, the minimum rate no
longer applies and you will be charged at a per person rate.
What does the cruise price actually include; does it include linen, crockery and cuterly?
The cruise price per person is for the venue hire only. This is determined by the duration of your
cruise and how many people will be on board. The catering charges as per your menu choice does
include standard set up with linen, crockery and cutlery. Any additional décor, flowers, will
be an additional charge. The cash bar facility we have on board does include glassware.
Can groups of less than 40 pax book a cruise?
If groups of less than 40 people would like to book the boat exclusively, they can, as long as
the minimum charge is agreed upon. The other alternative is to join on our Sunday Cruises. As
this is a public event, there will be other guests on board.
Do you offer commission for PCO’s?
We do, if the PCO is registered with the relevant PCO associations.
Is music supplied on the boat?
Yes, back round music is always supplied on board. If guests are looking to dance the night
away, a DJ is highly recommended. There will not be enough staff on board to supply dance
music during the cruise unless you have made prior arrangements.
Can we cruise longer than 3 hours?
Yes you can, prices for additional hours can be seen on our cruise price list. Liquid Lounge
management would prefer a maximum of 4-5 hours on the water for safety reasons. As guests are
likely to have consumed a lot of alcohol during this time and we would prefer to remain close
to home after 3 hours. However we are aware that every group is different and this can be
determined during your function. The safety of our guests is the most important aspect of our
operation, something we do not take lightly. We have had functions were we have had to cancel
after 3 hours, as guests got out of hand, and we have had functions that have continued into
the early hours of the morning. We reserve the right to decide what’s best for client’s safety
in the moment.
Do you offer discount for larger groups?
Not usually as the boat was designed and built to run with big groups. Discount is only offered
to (big group) clients who book on a regular basis.
Can you arrange for conference and accommodation?
The Liquid Lounge is primarily an “events” venue. We have had conferences on board, we do have
a 42 inch LCD screen that laptops can plug into for presentations, and space is limited as
conference seating arrangements require a bigger area. We recommend booking one of the hotels
we depart from for your conference, and using the Liquid Lounge for your breakaway venue/ gala
event. These hotels have fabulous accommodation options available. You can also book the
Liquid Lounge through the hotels directly - this would make it easier as you would be handling
one master account. The hotels rates for the Liquid Lounge are the same.
Liquid Living Houseboat
What does the price include?
We have two rates for the Houseboat. A fully catered rate wich includes the boat hire, acommodation for the night and all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The self catering rate includes the boat hire, acommodation for the night. Self catering implies that you can bring along your own food, all catering equipment is provided. Both prices includes the limousine transfer from one collection point to Houseboat (return trip)
Can we bring our own beverages?
Unfortunately no, no beverages can be brought onboard. We have a liquor licence that permits this. A beverage list will be sent upon booking in order for you to choose what you like to have served. A drink account will be opend for you upon arrival and remain open untill your departure. You may either pay cash or via credit card on check out.
Are children allowed on board?
Because of safety we would recomend small children not be brought on board for your Houseboat holiday. Unlike the Liquid Lounge river cruiser where the maximum amount of time on board would be 3 hours, your houseboat vacation would be a 2-3 day cruise and the kiddies might get a little restless, and wonder around the boat. We believe not having kids on board would eliminate the worry of constantly watching over them, thus making your holiday all the more relaxing. The age group of children we recomend not having on board is anywhere under the age of 8-12.
What is the minimum and maximum capacity?
The minimum requirement is 6 guests, and the maximum requirement is 10. We have 4 double cabins en-suite which would sleep 8 people. The extra 2 people will sleep in the salloon area on a double sleeper couch. The salloon area does have its own guest bathroom.
Do you cater for Halaal or Vegiterians?
Upon booking you will receive a selection of menus to choose from. Yes we can cater for Halaal and Vegiterians. This information must be provided upon booking. You also have the option of self catering.
What size are the beds in each cabin?
Each cabin has a double bed that sleeps 2 people. It is most suitable for couples, however if you have a best friend that would not mind bunking up with you, the bed is big enough!
Can we book for one night only?
Although our detailed price list does insist on a two night stay, we can negotiate a one night stay during the week. We will negotiate based on other possible bookings in the week and seasonal specials. All weekends will have to booked out on a 2 night stay basis. We will not be able to split the weekends. Should you wish to book over the weekend, you will have to book both Friday and Saturday nights.
