Shelter Marine Houseboats are a fairly new concept in South Africa.  This multi-purpose retreat is probably the best solution to river/lake property ownership.  Your maintenance is minimal, and your scenic view is always changing.  Step into your dream of a Houseboat with a luxurious model from Shelter Marine. Shelter Marine is a limited production builder that has the ability to take on unique custom built houseboats, ensuring unparalleled quality, detail and customer service.  The entire boat is fibre glass.  Advanced technology gel coat and Isopholic resin is used for superior bonding and exceptional flex.  We can provide almost any houseboat feature.  Our current demo unit used for Charter can be viewed at the Emerald Resort & Casino in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. Mooring option on the Vaal River A Marina at the Emerald Resort & Casino has been recently established.  A private mooring for your houseboat will be built with exclusive access for you and your family.  Your houseboat mooring also includes a private driveway, lapa entrance, Houseboat jetty, shaded jetty for a speedboat or Jetski, electrical power & water supply, sewerage facility and 24 hour security.  A once off rental fee will be added to the purchase price of your Houseboat.  A monthly service fee will be charged by Emerald Resort & Casino for the use of electricity and water. Transportation to other waterways. We have various transport companies that can quote on the transport of your completed Houseboat to a waterway of your choosing.  All quotations would have to be individually worked out.  Unfortunately an estimate cannot be given.  The transport company will also advise on possible insurance cover for the journey. SAMSA Licencing Shelter Marine build all Houseboats based on SAMSA regulations.  All boats are required to be licenced, whether it be for commercial or private use.  After the boat is completed a stability test by Naval Africa needs to be done, and the reports are to be submitted to SAMSA for approval.  This process is not included in the purchase price.  An estimated amount of R50 000.00 for the licencing process is to be expected.  A detailed quotation can be given upon confirmation of your order.
