Gauteng’s very own Wine Route is located in the Vaal area, a mere 45 minutes drive from Joburg and easy to find. Taste 8 superb South African wines for R80.00 at over a dozen different venues on and around the Vaal River area.

Discover our latest gem along the picturesque banks of the Vaal River – The River. Located within the tranquil Emerald River Resort, this unique venue is a celebration of life on the water, steeped in nostalgia and charm.
Every Saturday & Sunday from the 7th June – 27th July we will be hosting Wine Tastings with Alvi’s Drift wines. R80 per person for tastings on 8 different wines. Wines available to purchase at cost + 10% for the duration of the Wine Route

Alvi’s Drift Wines
For this years Vaal Wine Route, the van der Merwe family of Liquid Lounge will be partnering with the van der Merwe family of Alvi’s Drift. Alivi’s Drift is a third-generation wine farm situated in South Africa’s Western Cape province. Like us, they are family-owned, tucked away in the southern reaches of the fertile Breede River Valley, is located in the cooler-climate wine ward of Scherpenheuvel. A rich history starting in 1928.
